As many of you know by now, back in April, as part of a restructuring of the Financial Inclusion Forum’s work, to make sure we meet a real need among British-based financial inclusion sector observers and practitioners, we held the first Financial Inclusion News Review: a quarterly breakfast event that presents a run-down and round-up of what’s going on across different areas of the sector. It went well, and we made some tweaks, and had the second event in September. Both events so far have been what we wanted – a genuine ‘round-table’, with great debate and discussion of what’s been happening and what is in the pipeline, based around a ‘news run-down’ by our guest speaker Blaine Stephens, COO of the MIX Market.

Besides a summary of interesting news stories in deals, market developments, regulation, research, product innovation, FinTech and the like, the News Review includes a ‘deep dive’ into one or two relevant issues of the day. In April, we dug down into Indian Demonetisation; last time it was the risks in digital finance. And there is plenty on the table for this next event too, and you’ll be able to weigh in on what you’d like to focus on.

Once more Joining Blaine to moderate the session will be Christine Allison of the CSFI and the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Task Group on Responsible Credit and Savings.

Finally, as always all our appreciation to Reed Smith, a long-time supporter of FIF and the sector, for generously continuing to host this series.
