About Us

We provide a forum for UK enthusiasts of microfinance with over 360 members from NGOs, corporates, government, media, universities and the public. Our aims are to exchange best practice, raise awareness and share information to help improve the delivery of microfinance to the world's poor.

We offer an average of ten events a year (12 in 2009), featuring world experts and practitioners of microfinance, an information hub and the opportunity to exchange ideas with other professionals. We look forward to seeing you at one of our events-- the first is free if space is available --and you are welcome to join as a member through our membership page.

The Club is independent, without any formal links to any corporate, governmental or non-governmental organisation, and is managed by a Steering Group of volunteers.

Microfinance Club of New York

The Microfinance Club of New York (MFCNY) was founded in 2003 with the goal of becoming a leading forum for the free exchange of information and ideas about microfinance, and to disseminate readily understandable, transparent and succinct information about microfinance. The MFCNY now has over 100 members. Most members are professionals with a background in financial services or microfinance; however, membership is open to anyone who supports the club's mission. The club has around 10 events per year on different topics currently relevant in microfinance. Events range from panel discussions to informal round table discussions.
